Live Nation Web App Technology

Hi!

We hope the below helps with any questions you may have about our web app technology. This technology is an additional way to help make you aware of shows you may want to attend, get information related to artist or shows and help you have more access to special offers, onsales, promotions and more.

See the link below for how this relates to our Privacy Policy and personalisation.

We have also tried to provide more information about:

About the Web App Technology (app)

Live Nation have built an app and we’d love you to start using it!  It’s a little bit different to apps you might be used to, because it’s using new technology to create a bookmark on your phone that directs you to the Live Nation website.  We think this is great for fans, because:

  1. It allows simple and easy access to the Live Nation website to get all the latest offers and announcements
  2. Unlike normal apps, our app takes up hardly any room on your phone, so it won’t use up your storage
  3. You’ll never need to worry about updates.  Everything that goes live on our website will automatically be available in the app
  4. You can receive notifications from Live Nation giving you updates on new tours, presales and much more!

How do I install the app?

Simply wait for a banner to appear on your screen when you’re on the Live Nation website on your mobile.  This will ask you to ‘Add Live Nation to Home Screen’, and you need to click on the banner to accept.  This will then pop up another message asking you to confirm, and you just need to click on ‘Add’.

This isn’t the same as an app in the app store, so rather than downloading it you’re just installing it onto your home screen.  Nothing except the link to our site is stored on your phone, which is why it takes up hardly any room.

Because this is such new technology, right now this will only work if you’re on an Android phone.  However, if you’re on iOS, or if you don’t see the banner pop up, you can add the app yourself.  You’ll just need to go to your settings while you’re on the Live Nation website and choose ‘Add to Home Screen’.  This isn’t available in the app store, so you will need to install it directly from the site itself.

What happens when I install the app?

A Live Nation icon will appear on your home screen.   If you tap on this, you’ll launch the app and be able to browse the Live Nation website with all the same pages and features you’re used to seeing.

If you’ve also signed up to push notifications, you’ll receive these on your phone whenever they’re sent.  You’ll see a notification arrive, and a flag will appear on the app.

Because it’s using such great new technology the app will hardly use any memory on your phone, so you don’t need to worry about it taking up room.

How do I uninstall it?

If you don’t want the app any more then just press and hold on the Live Nation icon, and then select ‘uninstall’.  If you change your mind you can always come back and install again!

What are Push Notifications?

Push Notifications are a new way of receiving instant updates from Live Nation about shows, pre-sales, great new offers and other news.  These will show on your browser or mobile depending where you sign up and if you click on the notification it will direct you to a website where you can find out more about the offer or topic.

How can I opt in to notifications?

A message will appear on your screen asking for your permission to receive Push Notifications from Live Nation.  If you accept this, a second message will appear directly from your browser asking you to confirm this choice.  Once you accept the second message, you’ll be signed up to receive notifications from us on all our announcements and new shows!

You’ll also be asked to select the genres you’re interested in.  This isn’t compulsory but giving us this information helps us to tailor the messages you receive to make sure you get content most relevant to you.

If you’re on your phone, for now this is only available on Android.  If you’re using iOS you’ll need to wait a little bit longer until they build this functionality which we’re hoping will be soon.

If you’re on a desktop, this is only available on Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Opera.  Safari are working on making this available but we’re not sure when this will happen.  If you’re on a Mac, you can still receive Push Notifications if you’re using Chrome.

How can I opt out of notifications?

You can either opt out directly through a push notification that you have received, or at any time through your browser.

If you’ve received a push notification, you can opt out directly through this.  Either press and hold on the notification or if you’re in a browser right click on it.  Then select the option to disable the notification.

If you haven’t got a push notification you can do this directly through the browser settings.
